Honda CX500 for sale
SELLER SAYS: This is my fourth restoration over two years, but the first on the Honda CX500. Having owned one in 1981, I purchased two from a friend who just wanted to offload them for $500 and spent $7500 on the restore, not to mention the approx $1000 in spares I thought I might need. As you can see it is in better than showroom condition and much better presented than the original production bikes. The frame was stripped, rust-proofed and painted in two-pack, the wheels restored and repainted, new wheel bearings, front brake calipers overhauled, new pads and brake lines, new Avons fitted, rear brake was good as was the diff. The engine was stripped down, radiator cleaned out, new clutch, springs, oil pump chain, gearbox good. New alternator, mechanical seal, cam chain ok, new “O” rings everywhere, engine top end overhaul, ported and polished, new chromed headers, stainless x-over and bespoke stainless mufflers. Seat frame repaired, new original pattern cover fitted, new blinkers, LED lighting throughout, carbies overhauled and new kits fitted, bike repainted in two-pack, the list goes on.
