SELLER SAYS: 1984 Harley Davidson Electra Glide FLH 1340 Shovel for sale. The last of the Shovels, one owner from new, parked up in 2000 due to back injuries, stayed there in shed for 20 years. I decided to do a total strip down and rebuild from frame up. Motor and gear box rebuilt by C and R engineering, all new electrics, paint, chrome. 160km. Is better than new. Totally stock except for carbie and pipes. Contact Greg at  (Wollongong, NSW)

EDITOR TERLICK SAYS: There’s nothing quite like a big old-school Harley tourer for taking two people and a heap of luggage on long rides in comfort. And if you’re going to buy a Harley tourer, the Electra Glide is the model to buy. The big full-dresser Electra Glide has been the classic big H-D tourer since it was first released in 1965 when it boasted both an electric start and a kick start, as well as a hand-operated gear change and a foot-change to gently ease riders into the then-new technology. The Electra Glide has been in the Harley line-up ever since, making it surely one of the most successful designs in motorcycle history. This bike of Greg’s boasts a low-stress history, with 20 years in the shed and then a substantial restoration suggesting it has many, many years of life ahead.
