EDITOR TERLICK SAYS: Six grand? Really? It’s hard to believe that we can buy a bike as good as this for such little money. The big ZRX was a marvellous piece of kit when it was first released, boasting whoa-fast performance (150mph-plus top speed and a sub-11 second quarter mile), from a strong-as-an-ox 4-x-carburettor-fed motor along with a big comfy seat and suspension and incidentals that could carry you and your bestie and a heap of kit at warp-speed all day long, mile after mile and year after year after year. It wasn’t a big seller (most buyers preferred the ‘R’ model which had a touch of Eddie Lawson in its styling), and maybe that’s why we can find them selling at such bargain prices. This bike of Howard’s looks to be well preserved and not showing it’s 20-plus years at all. If you like the idea of a comfortable, reliable, fast, retro sports tourer that may well outlive your kids, you’ve found it.
