EDITOR TERLICK SAYS: Large-capacity adventure bikes represent the greatest growth market in motorcycling across the world; and little wonder. The ability to take a heap of gear — and a pillion — to places off the beaten track in relative comfort is indeed a glorious 21st Century adventure opportunity. Moto Guzzi’s 1200cc Stelvio is no longer in production, and more’s the pity — comfortable, powerful, beautifully made and well-kitted — the big Italian presented a genuine alternative to BMW’s long-running GS range. The Stelvio carved a solid reputation during its run, proving utterly reliable and competent with a level of rider and passenger comfort at or near the top of the class. This bike of Greg’s looks like an excellent example, with a few tweaks to make it even better. Learn more here.
