THE BIKE Shed Times has burst through its 2017 website performance targets.
The Perth-based online motorcycle magazine this week reached 10,000 Facebook followers and is now certain to exceed 150,000 site visits for the 2017 year.
Editor Peter Terlick credited BST’s Bikes For Sale page, launched one year ago this week, as providing a major boost in momentum for the website.
“Bikes For Sale is now our best-read section, providing an online meeting place for buyers and sellers of special West Australian bikes, and a great spectator spot for the rest of us to drool over exotics, reminisce over bikes we used to own, and ponder ways to make room in our sheds for just one more bike. With almost 27,000 hits for the year, our Bikes For Sale page has been our biggest success story of 2017,” Peter said.
“Mind you, our articles on bike-related events and unusual WA motorcycles and their owners continue to attract many readers. Our recent story on the West Australian collector they call Toad, for example, had more than 5,000 views in one week. But it’s our weekly injection of new bikes onto our Bikes For Sale page that keeps readers coming back, week after week.”
Peter said he was grateful to West Australian motorcyclists for their readership support, and to bike-related businesses that are spending their valuable advertising dollars with the BST website.
“We are attracting readers from across Australia and around the world, but Perth is by far our biggest support base,” he said.
“Our business model has always been to create an engaging, entertaining website that West Australian motorcyclists will visit often, thereby giving advertisers a cost-effective way to reach new customers,” he said.
“It’s been a great twelve months. I’m looking forward to 2018 being even better!”
