SELLLER SAYS: Triumph 1947 500cc ‘Tiger 100’ Twin, Triumph’s flagship sports model using a highly tuned version of the ‘Speed Twin’ engine. Claimed maximum speed 100mph. Competition success included a win in the 1947 Dutch TT at Assen and 2nd place in the 1947 Isle of Mann Senior TT. According to the Triumph Owners Club of UK fewer than 1800 were produced for the 1947 production run. This example was despatched to KTM ( Tozer, Kemsley & Milbourn ) importers Adelaide on September 4th, 1947. I have a dating certificate from the TOMCC confirming all details, such as still having the original engine, gearbox and frame as built in the Triumph factory. The previous owner last had the bike registered ion 1973, after that it spent 45 years in storage. This is a genuine original example; the majority of ’47 T100’s that I’ve come across are not.
