Honda CB750 Four for sale
SELLER SAYS: Very well maintained in its own garage in New Caledonia, this was my client’s first bike (and his favourite, but he cannot ride anymore). This bike has a twin-disc front brake. EDITOR TERLICK SAYS: Back in 2018, we put together an article listing our top ten choices for investing in classic motorcycles. Our number one pick was the SOHC Honda CB750. Amazingly, just six years ago it was still possible to find a good early Honda Four for around $10k. Not any more. Yes, we’re going to say it — we told you so. The first CB750 was one of the greatest two-wheeled creations of all time. Released in 1969, it was seriously fast and (more importantly) delivered a smooth, quiet, reliable, oil-tight, four-cylinder engine that made its competition of the day appear prehistoric by comparison. So dominant was the 750 Four that it and the flood of Japanese bikes that followed virtually destroyed the British motorcycle industry and whacked the Europeans around the head as well. Honda made very few changes to the original 1969 model for several years, while everyone else struggled to catch up. As a result, all the CB750s built in the early-to-mid 1970s are pretty much the same mechanically and had only minor changes cosmetically. This particular bike is a 1972 model, selling from a private collector in New Caledonia. We have sold several of his bikes to buyers in Australia, all of them beautiful examples in outstanding condition. Potential buyers can therefore be confident that the seller and the bike are legitimate. Our previous sales on his behalf involved Victorian bike-importing specialist Bikes Abroad who ensured the shipping and import paperwork were managed professionally.
