EDITOR TERLICK SAYS: It’s hard not to like Moto Guzzi’s V7. As friendly as a labrador but better looking and less inclined to make a mess, the V7 is basically a low-and-easy 750 town bike that can comfortably manage highway duties as well. The styling is well-done retro without making the bike technologically spartan, boasting as it does ABS and traction control but also boasting a way old-school air-cooled V-twin engine that feels and sounds like a proper Italian bike should. And speaking of being an Italian bike, yes, it really is — made in Italy I mean, and not outsourced to China, Thailand or Brazil. The 744cc engine is low stressed and will go for eons, as will all Guzzis, so the 57k on the clock can be considered ‘well run-in’. This bike of Richard’s looks like an outstanding example, with upgraded luggage, suspension and exhaust giving it an extra tick or two and having been maintained by Thunderbikes providing another tick. I know Richard is a long-time Guzzi enthusiast (just ask him – he’ll tell you this one is his tenth and that he once owned an original V7). And how nice is that Guzzi-blue paint job? Very nice indeed.
