1989 Ducati 851 – $19,900. (SOLD)

1989 Ducati 851 – $19,900. (SOLD)

SELLER SAYS: The original Ducati Superbike, this 1989 Ducati 851 Strada is in excellent condition with upgraded Brembo Goldline brakes and an Ohlins remote reservoir rear shock. Only 33,133kms covered. It comes in the ‘biposto’ seating configuration, with the provision of a matching red cowl to create the monoposto look. It is fitted with excellent high-set Termignoni mufflers, while also included in the sale are the original silencers and the pillion footpegs. The tank is alloy, too. It has had a major service which included new belts, valve clearances checked and adjusted, a new fuel filter plus all new high pressure fuel hoses inside the tank, as well as quick release inline fuel couplings to make access and servicing much easier. The work included a full service to the injectors and balancing of the throttle bodies, so the progression off idle is smooth. The tyres are Metzeler and have about 5000km on them. The oil and filter were last done at 29,000 or so. Always stored securely under cover in a dry shed. It’s been extremely reliable and is an excellent example of the original 851. It also has a new sealed glass-matt battery, as well as a trickle charger connection. The mirrors are the excellent bar-end style made by Oberon Performance of the UK, far better than the old black wing nuts that stuck out of the side of the fairing, but I have those, too, as well as a tinted windshield. I also have the original owner’s manual. Contact  on 04xxxxxxxx SOLD (Coffs Harbour, New South Wales)
