THREATENING clouds and an occasional light shower of rain failed to dampen spirits at the 2016 York Motorcycle Festival.
A good crowd made the 100-or-so kilometre trip east of Perth, with most shrugging at the clouds and taking their bikes.
Others (like, er, me) wimped out and took the car …
Stunt riding, freestyle motocross and super motard races entertained those who needed a bit of action, while the show-and-shine in the historic York Town Hall contained enough automotive porn to make the trip worthwhile for others.
CAPTION: Beautifully restored Z1 and unmolested Honda four were stars of the show.CAPTION: Harleys came in every shape and size, from cafe racer to stretched chopper. Attention to detail on this one was perfect.CAPTION: Tim Murphy spent four years building this Honda VFR 800-powered road-going sidecar. Fibreglass bodywork was beautiful.
CAPTION: Historic York Town Hall was a great venue for the show and shine.CAPTION: Hay bales were quite interesting. Really.CAPTION: Monster chicks were way cool. As they are.CAPTION: Hey. What about me?CAPTION: Meanwhile, back in the carpark, some of the automotive porn had a four-wheel flavour.
